Who are the hunters?
The hunters are a small team experienced in hunting and the use of firearms. You will meet all the people who enter your property.
How many people will there be on the property
Most likely between 2 and 4 people. Generally no more than 2 people will be shooting, the others are there to help with recovery, but we will discuss this with you.
Who needs to provide permission to hunt the property?
The property owner or manager must provide approval.
Who pays for the processing?
The Trust receives donations from individuals and businesses to cover the cost of processing.
Who is responsible for the health and safety plan while on the property?
The hunters will abide by any requirements of your on farm inductions and will take responsibility for their own safety.
How will the boundaries of the property be confirmed before the hunting?
This will be discussed in detail, but written confirmation that can be easily shared. Email is the most efficient.
Who benefits from this activity?
A range of charities benefit from the donations. Many are struggling to stock red meat products and are extremely grateful to receive the donated goods.
Does this activity comply with MPI requirements?
We have been in communication with MPI. The “Animal Products Team - Food Regulation” have confirmed that our activities fit within the requirement of the recreational catch regulations. To find out more about these regulations please visit the MPI website.
